Why a cabriolet in Tenerife?

The Tenerife climate is unique. In the south it is almost always warm and dry: average winter temperature +22 °C, summer +27 °C. This means you can drive with the roof down from January to December — something that's possible in Germany or Britain only 2–3 months a year.

But there's a second factor — the roads. Tenerife is a true driver's paradise:

  • The TF-21 road up Mount Teide — 50 km of serpentine climbing from sea level to 2 100 m above sea level. Views over lava fields and clouds below your wheels.
  • The Anaga serpentines (TF-12, TF-134) — laurel forests (laurisilva) that survived from the Tertiary period. Every turn is a postcard.
  • The coastal motorway TF-1 — a modern highway with ocean views, perfect for cruising in a Mustang GT V8 or Bentley Continental.
  • Western Tenerife — TF-454 to Los Gigantes — 600 m sheer cliffs falling straight into the ocean. The best road for roadsters like the Porsche 718 Boxster or Mazda MX-5.

Our cabriolet collection: which one to choose?

Our fleet has 19 cabriolets across all classes. Here is honest advice without marketing fluff.

You want maximum thrill

Take the Lamborghini Huracan Spyder or Ferrari 488 Spider. 600+ hp, 0–100 km/h in 3 seconds. Serious machines for experienced drivers who want something special. Perfect for a one-day trip to Teide.

You want an American muscle car

Three Ford Mustangs to choose from: Mustang 2.3 EcoBoost (economical, for those who want the look without high fuel costs), Mustang 5.0 GT V8 (the classic: 450 hp, raw V8 sound, that real American character) and Mustang Cabrio Classic — a retro version for vintage charm lovers. We also have the American rival — Chevrolet Camaro Cabrio.

You want German premium and comfort

4-seat cabriolets for couples or families: Audi A5 Cabrio and the more powerful Audi S5 Cabrio, BMW 4 Series Cabrio and Mercedes E 450 Cabrio. All automatic, with A/C, leather and navigation. Top option for a family trip — Bentley Continental GTC.

You want a 2-seater roadster

Two-seat cabriolets: Porsche 718 Boxster (classic mid-engine roadster), Porsche 911 Carrera 4S Cabrio (all-wheel drive, perfect for the Teide serpentines), Mercedes SLC Cabrio and the legendary Mazda MX-5 — the best-selling roadster in the world for the price.

You want a budget option

The most affordable cabriolet in our fleet is the Mini Cabrio Automatic. Stylish, economical, easy to park in towns like Puerto de la Cruz or Garachico. In the standard class — two VW T-Roc Cabrio: automatic and manual — the only crossover convertible on the island, comfortable for families.

You want a 4WD cabriolet

Jeep Wrangler Sahara 4xe Híbrido — the only hybrid 4×4 cabriolet on the island. Perfect for gravel roads of Anaga and beaches like Playa de Benijo.

TOP-3 cabriolet routes in Tenerife

1. Teide — the roof of Spain (8 hours)

Start in Costa Adeje → TF-28 through Vilaflor (the highest village in Spain, 1 400 m) → TF-21 to Teide National Park → lunch at Las Cañadas → return via La Esperanza with views over both oceans.

Suitable cars: any automatic with comfortable suspension — for example the Mercedes E 450 Cabrio or Audi A5.

Tip: at 2 100 m it's cool even in summer. Bring a jacket and keep the roof closed on descent — sharp temperature swings.

2. Anaga — ancient laurel forest (6 hours)

Start in Santa Cruz de Tenerife → TF-12 into the mountains → Taganana village (seafood lunch at El Pequeño Rincón del Marinero) → Benijo beach at sunset.

Suitable cars: a small roadster or 4×4 — Mazda MX-5 for tight turns or Jeep Wrangler for gravel.

Tip: roads are narrow, passing is tricky. Fill up before — petrol stations are rare.

3. Los Gigantes and the west coast (5 hours)

Start in Las Americas → TF-1 north → TF-47 to the Los Gigantes cliffs (600 m sheer wall) → lunch with cliff views → return via Masca (one of the most scenic gorges in the Canaries).

Suitable cars: something quick and agile — Porsche 911 Carrera 4S or Mustang GT V8.

Tip: the road to Masca is single-lane with hairpin turns — not for large cars like the Bentley.

When is the best time to rent a cabriolet?

Tenerife is good year-round, but there are nuances:

  • November–March (best season for northern visitors): +20…+24 °C, perfect for top-down driving during the day. Fewer tourists, lower prices, empty roads.
  • April–June: hot but without August's stickiness. Prime time for the Anaga and Teide routes.
  • July–August: high season, prices up, Teide roads jammed in the morning. Book your cabriolet at least 2 weeks ahead.
  • September–October: "Spanish Indian summer". Warm ocean, crowds leaving. Ideal time.

How much does cabriolet rental in Tenerife cost?

Prices in our fleet start from €40/day for the Mini Cabrio and go up to €1 450/day for the Lamborghini Huracan Spyder. Average is around €80–120/day for a Mustang or Audi A5.

The price already includes:

  • Full insurance with no excess (CDW + TP, no hidden surcharges)
  • Unlimited mileage
  • Free delivery to TFS, TFN or southern hotels (1–3 days — €40, 4+ days — free)
  • 24/7 support in 6 languages
  • Free cancellation up to 48 hours before pickup

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I drive a cabriolet up to Teide?

Yes, the TF-21 road to Teide is open to all cars. However, at 2 100 m the temperature drops to +5 °C even in summer — better keep the roof closed. If snow falls in winter (rare), the road may be temporarily closed.

What's the minimum age for cabriolet rental?

21 years + driving licence held for at least 2 years. For luxury (Ferrari, Lamborghini, Bentley) — minimum age 25 + licence for 3 years. No extra fee for young drivers.

Can I rent a cabriolet with a driver (if I'm not confident on serpentines)?

Yes, on request we offer chauffeur service for all luxury cars. Price is quoted individually — contact us on WhatsApp +34 613 74 18 76.

How long does hotel delivery take?

Delivery to any hotel in the south (Costa Adeje, Las Americas, Los Cristianos) — within 1 hour after booking confirmation. To TFS Airport — we meet you at the arrivals hall exit.

What if I don't like the car — can I swap it?

Yes. On the first day of rental you can swap to any other car available in our fleet — no penalty. Just contact the manager.
